In the 1800s, East Indian shawls and fabrics were scented with patchouli oil.

How to Burn: On a ceramic dish place a charcoal disc and light until it becomes a hot ember. Place a few pieces of resin on top and let scented smoke surround you. Note: Charcoal discs can be very smoky, best to light near a window or outdoors.
